When it comes to dangerous game hunts, there is probably no one who books more dangerous
game safaris each year then this outfit! They have been hunting their huge quota for many
years, and the record books are full of trophies taken here, both dangerous game and plains
game. You will be very unlikely to find a better operation anywhere in Zimbabwe. Now that said,
please be in good walking condition –be able to walk at least 5 miles, and more is better. Do
plenty of daily walking beforehand at a brisk pace- no sauntering. You do not need to be an
athlete, but walking is key.
The Omay concession is situated on Lake Kariba, with a lengthy border on the lake and has a
long eastern border on one of the National Parks, with both features contributing greatly to high
game quantities.
As you can see from the map above, the concession is a huge one with all the features you
might desire in a concession, including plenty of water and plenty of ground. The four black

- 12 tuskless
- 85 buffalo bulls
- 20 buffalo cows
- 6 lion
- 11 leopard
- 6 crocodile

- Plains game (extensive).
This one million acre concession is one of the finest unfenced hunting areas in Africa and is
known for its large concentrations of big game. Hilly terrain, river valleys and large forested
areas make it a game paradise. Elephant, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo are plentiful in this area.
Hippo, Sable, Crocodile, Kudu, Zebra, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Warthog and numerous other
smaller species are also found here. They also have access to smaller concessions where
Leopard, Eland, Zebra, Kudu, Impala, Tsessebe, Wildebeest, Sable, Warthog, Duiker,
Steenbok and other animals are found.
TRANSPORT
Access to this l remote area is limited and most clients take a 90-minute charter flight by light
aircraft to reach the camps. A Road transfer is possible for a smaller fee. Harare is the closest
International Airport to the area and most clients enter Zimbabwe via Harare where they will be
met by the charter pilot and then assisted through Customs and Immigration. Entry may also be
made via Bulawayo or Victoria Falls.
